Language & Culture Courses

The standard Spanish language course is available for everybody from complete beginners to advanced speakers. The courses are divided into three terms per school year, running from the beginning of October to the middle of December, the beginning of January to the end of March, and the beginning of April to the end of June. Students can start with any of the terms, as the courses are independent, and sign up for one term, two terms (when starting in October or January) or three terms (when starting in October).

The teaching of these courses is given at 7 different levels (beginners, elementary, intermediate, advanced and higher), and each student will be placed at the appropriate level by doing a placement test on the first day of the course.

The lessons are held in the afternoon at the faculty of Philology at the university campus. Furthermore Complutense arranges extra subjects in which students at all levels can participate (although it might be difficult for students of lower levels to follow these classes). The extra subjects have 10 or 45 hours of classes in total and include different Spanish cultural themes.
