Who Are Semester Spanish Courses For?
These courses are ideal for students who have the time to spend a trimester’s worth of time (or more) in Spain. Those who would like a more organic learning process with steady and gradual Spanish language progress over a set length of time would benefit greatly from this course. The students who attend these courses often vary in background and age range.
The Semester Spanish Course at CUM
Semester courses run for 4 hours on a daily basis (a total of 20 hours each week). The courses lay emphasis on Spanish grammar; theory and practice in terms of comprehension and conversation.
There are 7 varying Spanish language class levels offered to the students. Each student will undergo an initial placement test to determine their spanish language level. After which, periodic and consistent evaluation will be implemented throughout the course. One on one tutoring sessions are also available with every course.
The CUM spanish language courses only have, at most, 18 students in each class. The small numbers are to ensure that each student receives adequate individual attention from the teacher. This structure has proven to be successful and efficient in enabling the students to make quick progress in the language.
Furthermore, the CUM arranges extra subjects in which students at all levels can participate (although it might be difficult for students of lower levels to follow these classes). The extra subjects have 10 or 45 hours of classes in total and include different Spanish cultural themes.
